Taste and texture

Large, soft pearls that range from pale silver to dark grey. The flavour is rich and buttery with a long, clean finish and very little salt-forward bite. Compare all five in our caviar grades and types guide.

How chefs use it

Serve it simply: on a mother-of-pearl spoon, on warm blinis with crème fraîche, or as the finishing touch on a tasting-menu course.

Questions

Is Royal Beluga wild or farmed?

Farmed. Wild beluga caviar cannot be legally traded in most markets, and every tin we sell comes from farmed sturgeon with CITES documentation.

How does beluga compare with Kaluga?

Both come from the genus Huso and give large pearls. Beluga is usually softer and lighter in colour; Kaluga pearls are firmer with a mellow, buttery flavour.

Packed by us

We pack every tin of Royal Beluga ourselves in London or Sofia, with a CITES label showing its species, origin and batch (how to read it). Need it under your own brand? See private label.
